Community Fall Festival: Church of the Brethren in Elizabethtown 2-7pm October 3. Harvey's BBQ, crafts, games, apple butter making, hayrides!

Bridge Bust: Columbia/Wrightsville Bridge 8am-4pm Rt. 462. Over 300 antiques, arts, crafts and food vendors! Admission is $2.00 for adults and children under 13 are free.

Cherry-Crest Adventure Farm--Ronks, October 3 12-6pm. Make a scarecrow, paint a pumpkin, ride a pony and of course, go through the corn maze!

A.C. Moore 24th Anniversary Celebration, October 3, begins at 11am. Carve pumpkins and make scrapbook pages (not free)!

I went to Weis last night to use up some of my cereal coupons and this is what I got and all I paid out of pocket is $1.00!!!! Not $1.00 a box, but $1.00 for all 8 boxes!! Plus, I got a $2.00 catalina! What a deal!

Cheerios is my Michael's most favorite food, so he will be thrilled to see all of the boxes and will probably try to kiss each one (there's a woman on the back and every time I get the box down, he grabs it to kiss the woman on the box LOL). Sometimes, I really love Weis!

Free Night at Sheraton

OK, so I thought this was really cool. My husband and I are in need of a major getaway and what better than a free night somewhere at a Sheraton (ok, I know, a free night at The Four Seasons!). Local Merchandiser

Keep your local merchandiser from yesterday! There was a great Family Dollar insert with a $5.00 off $25.00 coupon, as well as $1.00 2-liter Coke products (limit 6), $1.00 off Clorox 2, $1.00 off Glad trash bags, $.50 off Quaker State Auto Products and $.50 off Texaco Antifreeze. They also accept Manufacturer's coupons!

Usually, when I see a coupon like this, I try to buy diapers and/or wipes if I have coupons for an even greater deal!

Free Directory Assistance

I thought this was pretty cool! I'm always fumbling around trying to find the phonebook because I don't want to pay $2.00 to get a phone number. Then Michael tries to tear the pages out of it!

Save a couple of bucks and dial 1-800-GOOG-411 the next time you need a number. It's a free service from Google and they will connect you with the business number you need. Right now they only offer business phone numbers, but I'm sure in the near future, they will have residential ones as well!

To get a residential ad, dial 1-800-FREE-411, but I hear you have to listen to a short ad (but is that so terrible?)!

Tuesday Treat Day

This isn't a picture that I took. But, I promise the next time I post a recipe, I will attach a picture! This was gone in a flash! I made this on Sunday for my good friends, as we got together to visit. It's quickly becoming my favorite fall dessert! You will know why when you try it!

Pumpkin Upsidedown Cake

350 degrees

Filling:

1 large can of pumpkin puree

3 large eggs

1 can evaporated milk

1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice (I tend to like more spice, so I put in more)

1 c. sugar

Topping:

1 box of yellow or white cake mix

3/4 c. melted butter (this needs to be melted before taking the measurement, if you don't, the top will be chalky)

1/2 c. pecans (optional)

Combine filling ingredients together and pour into greased pan (10x13). Sprinkle cake mix on top of filling and drizzle butter over cake mix.

Bake for 15 mins and put nuts on top. Bake another 30-40 mins.

It's awesome hot, but I really like it cold, it reminds me of Thanksgiving pie leftovers :) YUM!

Well, I just got back from K-Mart in Elizabethtown and they are participating in the Double Coupons this week. They are accepting all coupons and doubling them, up to $2.00. I didn't really get many deals. There was not a lot on sale that matched up with my coupons that we needed or wanted. I did snag a couple of bags of hershey kisses for $.50 each for Halloween! But that about sums up my trip!

So, I'm hearing mixed information about the Kmart double coupons event. It wasn't advertised in their circular today, but I heard that doesn't matter, it is still happening. Then I heard it was only P&G coupons, but now some people are telling me it's any coupon.
