Here are my favorite fun things happening in Lancaster this weekend:

18th Annual Apple Festival, Sunday, Lancaster County Park

Inexpensive ways to date your husband (or wife/boyfriend/girlfriend)

One thing my husband and I don't do nearly enough is go out on date night. We're pretty busy around here with work (my husband), our almost 1 year old, family and friends, not to mention that we're trying to cut back on dining out & entertainment, that we normally don't make it a point to go out for a date. But hopefully that will change in the near future!

Redbook magazine has 26 ideas that are an inexpensive way to go out on a date with your significant other. Here are a few of my favorites:

• Make a weekly date to end the weekend with a late-night arm-in-arm stroll together, even if it’s just around your backyard. Get in sync by matching your steps.

• Multitask clearing out the fridge by packing up all the leftovers for a picnic. Add your best china and glassware, and then make a date to meet at your local park during your lunch hour.

• Take a stroll through a house you’d (someday) love to own. Check out the real estate listings for weekend open houses so you don’t have to deal with a hard sell from the agent

The Wizard of Oz

The 70th anniversary celebration of The Wizard of Oz will be showing across the country on the big screen for 1 night only. Local readers can enjoy this movie with their families at Penn Cinema's on Wednesday, September 23 at 7pm. Price is $10.00, but if you love this movie as much as I do (actually it my #2 most favorite movie), it will be well worth it!
